Build it and they will come?

That is exactly what First Baptist Church is doing. On September 21, 2003 at 5 pm everyone was encouraged and invited to attend the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Worship Center.

"The Church met on May 18 and decided overwhelmingly to approve the new Worship Center. This has been in the planning stages for over a year and a half. I am very, very excited about the whole project." explained Pastor Jeff, "It's a time of celebration."

This occasion is a stepping stone to the ultimate goal of reaching each and every person in the surrounding areas and the eventual relocation of the First Baptist Church. We have been blessed with continued growth over the last few years and because of that growth, a bigger building is needed to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

"We are absolutely committed to reaching as many people as we can in Kings County. The new Worship Center is a middle step for us. This center will allow us to continue to grow to 1,000 to 1,200 people and then will be in a better position to relocate and continue to grow." explained Pastor Jeff.
